Hello Ni Hao Hola Thank you for contacting Seedlings Inc. Seedlings is a non-profit licensed international adoption agency. We provide a full range of adoption services, including pre- and post-placement adoption services and counseling, home studies, adoption education programs, parent support programs, and community awareness events that focus on the needs of children who do not have families of their own, and on the needs of adoptive parents and their children. SEEDLINGS believes that children deserve a home with loving parents who truly want to parent them and are prepared to provide for their needs. When loving adoptive families anxious to parent orphaned or abandoned children are not abundant locally, national boundaries should not prevent a child from having a bright future. Seedlings does not knowingly condone fraudulent adoption practices which violate the law or ethical standards of practice. Seedlings was founded in 1990 for the purpose of placing adoptable children in families that are physically, emotionally, and financially prepared and eager to adopt and raise a child. The professional staff of Seedlings hold Master's Degrees in Social Work and Psychology, and most are adoptive parents, as well. Our bilingual liaison staff enable us to maintain close ties with legal and governmental authorities in Latin America and Asia. The agency is governed by an unpaid Board of Directors that is charged with the task of insuring that the agency maintains high ethical and professional standards. We are licensed as a non-profit adoption agency by the Division of Youth and Family Services, Department of Human Services, of the State of New Jersey. Seedlings is a member of the Joint Council on International Children’s Services (JCICS) and other professional social service organizations that seek to maintain high ethical standards in international adoption. Federal accreditation of adoption agencies has not yet been formalized in the United States, but Seedlings is prepared to seek federal accreditation under these forthcoming standards, as well. Seedlings has an Executive Director, Social Work Supervisor, Director of Adoption Programs, and a full-time office manager in the office full time. We also have seven contract social workers and are assisted with our international programs by our liaison to the China Center for Adoption Affairs and our Latin American programs liaison. International support is provided by our experienced, licensed professionals abroad and our travel coordinator. Seedlings can provide home study services for anyone residing in the State of New Jersey or New York, and can provide adoption services to single adults or married couples who are US citizens residing in any state or US citizens living abroad. In choosing to adopt a child you are acknowledging that parenthood is very important to you – perhaps more important than it is to many who come by parenthood with much less effort. It is our goal to help you make educated choices regarding adoption that will benefit your family and the child or children you hope to adopt. We invite you to begin your journey toward parenthood now. Call to schedule a Home study and begin working toward a brighter future for yourself and for a child. Children grow best in families!
